Roses in the Castle Garden of Rothenburg

After a great and relaxing morning at our favourite Sunday breakfast spot 'Unter den Linden' at Rothenburg ob der Tauber we went for a stroll inside the town wall of the medieval town.

Off the beaten tourist tracks there are many beautiful und unique places to linger over.

One of this places is the Burggarten (Castle Garden) in the east of the old town, high above the Tauber valley.

From there you have a fantastic panorama view on the southern town wall and the historic buildings behind.

One of my favourite spots in the Castle Garden is a small geometrical garden from the 17th/18th century with eight figures made from sandstone.

They are representing the four seasons and the four elements.

Currently many beautiful and sweet-smelling roses are blooming.

Here are some of my best shots from yesterday...

November deer and roses

This year's autumn in Germany is really unusually: yet no storms, no strong winds at all, no rain showers, no temperatures below 0°C - just calm and misty weather, sometimes with periods of great and warm sunshine. So many of the deciduous trees still have their withered leaves on their branches.

And most of the roses are not frozebitten.

So I was able to take some autumnal photos during my weekend stroll without having the disadvantages of normal German autumn weather...

The deer (fallow deer as far as I know) I found inside an enclosure of a small manison / country house.
They are really greedy, so it was no problem at all to entice many of them with some bread.

I got the summer roses blues...

Kann halt nicht aus meiner Haut heraus: Bin ein bekennender "Plümschen"-Fotograf...
...die können einfach nicht weglaufen wenn ich komme! ;-)

The leopard can't change its spots - literally: I cannot change / I cannot get out of my skin: I'm an avowing photographer of "florets"...
...they cannot run away if I come! ;-)

What a pity I cannot attach the scent of the roses here on my blog...
