...more, more, more harbingers of spring!

On Sunday we had sunshine - Yeah!

And more and more we can find harbingers of spring,
although we still have winter temperatures in large parts of Germany.

On Saturday we visited the "Esslinger Garden Days", an enjoyable event in the pedestrian area of the old town of Esslingen, a city in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany.

Several exhibitors presented their products around the topics garden and gardening, among them several flower shops and market gardens with a presentation of the first early flowering plants and flowers.

Pansies in little bottles, tulips and willow catkins were my favourites to take photos from.
But mainly I had my hands in the jacket pockets to keep them warm.

At home I took some photos of the almond branches we brought with us from our Easter excursion,
in the meanwhile the buds opened their white and pink petals.

Enjoy your workweek!
Enjoy springtime!

  1. In our place, four warm days continue after three cold days continue. After this pattern recurs, the real spring comes. Now a lots of flowers are blooming here.
I like your white-yellow tulip. It's so spring like.
    Have a nice week!

  2. Thanks for your kind comment, Sarah!

I hope that the days with cold temperatures are soon far behind us. Everybody in Germany is fed up with the long and chill winter.
We want sun, flowers, enjoyable temperatures - and all that without flying to Australia... :-)

    Have a pleasurable week!
    Uwe.

  4. Glad to know your world is getting brightened up. Pansies in the little bottles and white-yellow tulips are so lovely. I’m impressed by and like your artistic sense in photographing as always.

It has been cold like winter for a week here in Nara, but at last temperature will get back to normal tomorrow. Enjoy your springtime.

  5. Dear Yoko,
yesterday we had our first warm summerday with temperatures of more than 20°C and sunshine. In the meanwhile our cherry trees are short prior opening their buds! :-) So it'll be a question of time when we can see the first petals or fully flourished cherry trees!

    Have a great week,
    Uwe.
