...in Bad Mergentheim's spa gardens!
Lavandula angustifolia - Echter Lavendel - true lavender
There's a small lavender garden in the spa garden of my hometown Bad Mergentheim.
Is a symbol and reminiscence for one of Bad Mergentheims twin towns: Digne-les-Bains, the capital of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department and a primary center of the lavender trade.
Not far away from the lavender garden, there's another garden area with different medicinal and aromatic herbs. Here's a blooming sage [salvina officinalis]...
...next to one of my favourite flowers: Calendula officinalis, also known als English marigold or Ringelblume.
The little blue blossoms belong to a borage.
Oh Dio mio.. More than saying wonderful! I love lavanta (turkish). It's my (own) way to keep a tiny bag of lavender in my wardrobe, sometimes put a few drops of lavender oil on my pillow. I know Alpes-de-Haute is famous for magnificent lavender fields, but a very first to know that Bad Mergentheim, too.
AntwortenLöschenIn the meantime, did you hear there's a type of lavender that's called 'butterfly lavender' in Swedish? Named that because the petals on top look a bit like wings:)
This world beauty lies in this town, but how it happens to name with Bad;) Lets remake it Beautiful Mergentheim:)
