EuroPride 2009 Zurich parade & celebration

About 50,000 people took part in the huge parade on 6 June and demonstrated for their equal rights: "Your rights are my rights". With 24 trucks and 25 floats, it was the longest and most colourful parade ever seen in Zurich.

Tousands of visitors were enchanted by the two-day festival in the City of Zurich. More than 100 mobile stars or tusk cones illuminated the streets and rainbow flags were visible everywhere, even on the front of trams and busses.

Visitors came from all over Switzerland, from Europe and even from overseas; everyone danced into the early morning hours.

Brief encounter with Karl Lagerfeld Teddy Bear

Found during window shopping at midtown of Zurich.

Each of the limited 2500 Karl bears costs $1,500, so start saving! Because before you could turn round, Christmas will be here and your child's empty stocking will be staring you in the face, begging for an alpaca teddy bear wearing sunglasses and "skinny lacquered jeans."

Züri...

Grüezi miteinand !!!

Some impressions of Zurich,
the city of the highest quality of life according the Mercer survey 2008:

European cities dominate the worldwide rankings of locations with the best quality of living, according to Mercer’s 2008 Quality of Living survey. Zurich retains its 2007 title as the highest ranked city, followed jointly by Vienna (2), Geneva (2), then Vancouver (4) and Auckland (5).

A view on the old town right of the Limmat.
The river Limmat is the continuation of the Linth river, known as Limmat from the point of effluence from Lake Zurich, in the city of Zurich.

The main pier of Lake Zurich directly in front of the gate of the city of Zurich.
By day the boats & ships of the Lake Zurich shippings lines land and leave this place frequently.

As far as I know Zurich is one of the cities which has a light concept to illuminate its buildings / superb edifices.
