Super Moon - Supervollmond

A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. The term "supermoon" is no astronomical, but originated in modern astrology. The association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, but the evidence of such a link is widely held to be unconvincing.

The most recent occurrence was yesterday, on 29 August 2015.

Taken 30 August 2015, at 00:33 o'clock

The cloudless night was that brightly lit half an hour after midnight,
that I was able to take a night shot from my balcony without a tripod!

The direct lighting of the trees in the foreground was made by the full moon !!!
Can you see the stars on the sky ???

Compare the night shot to the photos taken seven hours later in the morning!
Nearly no difference!!!
;-)

Enjoy a great new week!

  7. I've never had any sort of consistent luck with taking photos of the moon. You've done an excellent job here, though!

LG Su

  14. I hadn’t known the August 29 super moon but thanks to this post I’ve learned next super moon is coming September 28. Yes, the stars are visible in the photo. I like the clouds formation which looks like a bridge in the sky. Incidentally, today I had a regular Ophthalmologic examination, and the super moon photos looked like fundus photos at first sight.
