I assume that it was way back that you have been sitting amidst a meadow of field flowers with various different (wild) species - all blooming higgledy-piggledy.
Am I right?
For me it was really a long time ago I found such a magnificent flower field I never tired of looking at the colorful beauties.
Some of the field flowers I knew - like the Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower),
but others I haven't seen before.
Does anybody of you have an idea what kind of pink floret I took here???

Cornflower and red poppy should know everybody.
But for all the other floral gems I need to browse through a plant identification book.
Next to the "wild" flower meadow was a field of one of my favourite flowers:
Ringelblume - common marigold - Calendula officinalis
The next photo is a "standard image" of a marigold blossom, but...
...have you ever seen such a huge field of Calendula officinalis???

Now I’ve learned “higgledy-piggledy”. I thought of “hodgepodge”, though the word seems to be often used in the name of the dishes with many different ingredients. In the hodgepodge flowers, my eyes were caught by bluebottles, one of my favorites. I’m also curious about the name of the flowers you asked. And Marigolds - what a cheerful sea of orange! Delightful contrast to the Agapanthus in the last post.

Wunderbar Deine Fotos, besonders mag ich das Kornblumenblau. Aber auch schön, Echinacea mal nicht nur auf dem Etikett des Arzneifläschchens zu sehen ;-)

Einige haben es bereits vermutet - die Blumenwiese ist kein reines Produkt der Natur, sondern "menschgemacht". D.h.: Das gewollte Ergebnis einer Mischung von Blumensamen, ausgestreut auf vielen Quadratmetern - zur Freude von Mensch und Tier. Und das Calendulafeld in ummittelbarer Nähe weist darauf hin, dass nicht wenige der Pflanzen auch kommerziell genutzt werden - ich schätze dass die Blumenwiese dazu dient, eine Vielzahl von Nutzinsekten anzulocken.
