Gamburg - German castle romanticism in the Tauber Valley

Have you ever been to the "Lovely Tauber Valley" - im Lieblichen Taubertal - in the north of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg???

At the origin of the Tauber Valley you find one of the most well-known German tourist goals:
Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Approximately 100 km in the north of Rothenburg, 20 km in front of the mouth of the Tauber into the Main river, you find the small town of Gamburg.

And Gamburg castle.

Gamburg castle was built in the 12th century - and it was never destroyed during the last 900 years!!!

Since approx. 30 years it's privately owned.
But in the weekends there's the chance to sneak a peak behind the castle walls.

And it's realy worth doing this.

So please accompany me on my private tour through the castle...
