V 16862

My encounter with the wind turbine V 16862 last Saturday...

...during a snack break in the middle of a wind farm in northern Germany after a long ride!

A weird feeling came up deep down inside me when standing direct under the rotor blades of the the wind turbine. Of course I could feel and hear the revolutions of each blade above my head and wide-angle lens.

I estimate the speed of the three-blade rotor with approx. 20 revolutions per minute that day; i.e. each second a rotor blade tried to split my dome... ;-)

I already knew R2-D2 and his companion C-3PO - and now I became acquainted with V 16862!

Uncle V 16863 + aunt V 16864???

In the Northern German states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the amount of wind energy is about 40%.

  1. Uwe, no kidding, I took very similar pictures a couple weeks ago! I love the big wind turbines high above the Moselle on the German side; there was such a nice contrast between them and the bright yellow flowers! But I'm sure your photos are better. :)

  3. Dear Luxemburgian friend,

if you compare things in life, most of them are neither better nor worse; in the majority of cases they are just D I F F E R E N T.

So I'm sure, your photos of the wind turbine are just different, not better than mine.

    Vive la différence!

    C'est tout.

    Meilleurs souveniers!

    Uwe.

  4. Do you have wind turbines / wind farms at Japan, too, Nobu-san?

    Domo arigato for your comment!

    Uwe.

  5. We have wind turbines.
But it has not so spread yet.(I think)
I think that it is difficult to secure enough level ground for those wind farms in Japan, and wind by typhoon that comes Japan is too strong.
