Tokyo is within my grasp...

Today's trip took us to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of Germany's most popular tourist destinations, dearly beloved especially by Japanese tourists... ;-)

But most of them sat motionless in the shadow, because the maximum temperature of the day was nearly 38°C at the afternoon, inside Rothenburg's town wall possibly even higher.

One of the ambitious Japanese even during today's hot temperatures was the artist and painter Eichii Takeyama, who has two ateliers: One at Tokyo, one at Rothenburg.

Takeyama-san signing some of his postcards with Rothenburg motifs for me with his personal name stamp.

Rack with some of Takeyama's Rothenburg postcards outside his atelier and shop.

One of Rothenburg's many picturesque places: Roederbogen and Markusturm.

Even these are photos of today: Christmas tree at the entrance of Kaethe Wohlfahrts Christmas shop (taking photos "strictly" forbidden) and a Christmas bulb in the form of the Japanese flag... ;-)

Any orthographic mistakes on the black board, my Japanese blog fellows!?!?!

Tokyo, I'm coming...

  1. I strolled around Rotenberg with my daughter about ten years ago and the memories are still vivid in my mind. I remember that always-Christmas-shop regardless of the season. 38 degrees Celsius is outrageous! But maybe you could be well prepared to the sultry weather of Tokyo by that. I feel your high expectation and excitement. Have a nice trip!

  3. It seems that some Japanese are living around Rothenburg. When we visited there we bought some bottles of Franken wine at a shop run by young japanese couple. They were tasty well.
    Enjoy your trip!

  4. ...I'm already enjoying, dear Sarah!!!
It's absolutely great to be here in Tokyo and I already spent two gorgeous days with three of my Japanese colleagues here on Saturday and Sunday.
I already clicked more than 2000 times on the shutter release of my camera... :-) Today my training with the Japanese team begins. I'm looking forward to that!

  6. What a beautiful town!! All what I want to have about town sceneries in Japan is harmony like this in colors, shapes and no showy advertisements. Is this a special area or not??
    Thanks for introducing him.
