With today's photos from Bad Mergentheim's Christmas market

I wish you, dear friends from all over the world,

a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous and peaceful New Year!

Unfortunately all the snow we got recent weekend melted away,

but therefore we got "springlike" temperatures of about 7°C... ;-)

This year's Christmas market of my hometown has taken place between Bad Mergentheim market place and our Deutschordensschloss, the castle of the Teutonic Order.

Thanks a lot for stopping by on my blog every now and then, especially those of you who take their time to pass a comment. And those of you who intend to do this in near future... ;-)

Christmas crib

Any idea where (in Germany) this Christmas crib with real little sheep in front of it might be located?

It's direct in front of a huge and impressive church with nothing less than the world's tallest steeple / church tower.

 

 So with this information you should be able to google it within seconds...

What do you think German Christmas looks like???

Take a mediaeval town with a lot of historic(-looking) buildings and a wall around, have decorated Christmas trees and tall, bellied & white-bearded guys (dressed like a big red sack) at every corner, install dozens of stalls with Christmas goods (nobody needs) and sell strange-tasting but expensive Glühwein and play/hear annoying Christmas music all day long...
...with one word: R O T H E N B U R G during Christmas season.

It's GREAT! MARVELLOUS. GORGEOUS. We love it (when it's all over again)... ;-)
